Bezuidenhout - project info

Photo’s from a living quarter in Den Haag made for Gemeentearchief Den Haag and some exhibitions in 2004, also for the book ‘Het Bezuidenhout 2000-2010’ by Xandra Haijer and Leo van der Kleij. This book was published by De Nieuwe Haagsche in spring 2007; it’s about the architecture of this quarter. In 1999 I started with a photoproject ‘1000 round 2000’ in my livingquarter Bezuidenhout. I followed around 8 households in their daily lifes, and visited parties, schools and offices to make a complete view of all aspects of living in this quarter. Tatsuhiko Nakagawa, a photographer from Tokyo, did the same in his quarter Naka- Meguro, we showed the results in 2001 (Tokyo) and 2004 (Den Haag/Voorburg). I also did a photoproject about this quarter for the Haags Gemeentearchief (Den Haag City Archives) in comparison with Den Haag Ypenburg quarter for an exhibition in the Atrium cityhall 2006/2007.
